Fourth ADEA International Women's Leadership - Call for Papers

The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) is sponsoring its fourth global conference to address women’s leadership.

The goal of the Fourth ADEA International Women’s Leadership Conference is to foster global alliances and deliver leadership strategies that women can use to improve oral health and overall health in communities throughout the world.

The Fourth ADEA International Women’s Leadership Conference theme is “Global Health Through Women’s Leadership.” It will build on themes and outcomes of the previous three international conferences—France (1998), Sweden (2003), Canada (2005)—that addressed global issues affecting women’s health and general health.

Conference information, including the Call for Papers instructions and online submission form, is available here:

www.adea.org/events/Pages/FourthInternationalWomensLeadershipConference.aspx

(If you are not able to access the link, cut and paste the address into your web browser).

The conference will identify strategies that promote the advancement of women and recognize their leadership value in the workforce and in promoting women’s health and oral health.

The Fourth ADEA International Women’s Leadership Conference is an outstanding opportunity for the presentation and discussion of issues in three main areas: education, research, and women’s health.

Dental educators, practitioners, health researchers, and policy makers from the global community are invited to submit abstracts for poster and oral presentations related to one of the eleven conference themes:

  1. Medical Ethics in a Global Context
  2. Women’s Oral Health and Women in Research
  3. Integrative and Complementary Medicine/Oral Implications
  4. Knowledge and Technology Exchange
  5. Women, Families and Children – Balancing Career and Obligations
  6. Women in Dental Education
  7. Women Leading Change – New Leadership Styles
  8. Women and Global Development
  9. Cultural Competency Concepts
  10. Dental Health Team – Allied Health Component
  11. Alternative Careers for Women in Dentistry

To access the online submission form and the Call for Papers instructions, visit www.adea.org/events/Pages/FourthInternationalWomensLeadershipConference.aspx

The deadline for poster and oral abstract submissions is December 22, 2009.
